Compliance Program
Optimal Care’s Compliance Program operates in accordance with the guidelines established by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This program promotes high ethical standards, professionalism, and accountability, which align with Optimal Care’s mission and core values.
The purpose of the Compliance Program is to:
- Ensure that Optimal Care complies with federal, state, accrediting body, and local regulations.
- Ensure that Optimal Care meets regulatory conditions of participation.
- Monitor for any criminal misconduct of employees, trustees, officers, and contractors that could expose the agency to civil liability.
The Compliance Program consists of:
- Implementing written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Compliance Officer and Compliance Committee to provide oversight with regular meetings.
- Education and Training Program.
- Confidential Complaint Procedure.
- Sanction Enforcement.
- Conducting internal monitoring and auditing.
- Responding to detected offenses, investigating, and undertaking remediation.
Open communication is critical for an effective Compliance Program. Everyone is encouraged to report any incidents of potential fraud or violations of policies and procedures related to ethical behavior.
All reports, discussions, and communications related to compliance concerns are treated as strictly confidential. Information shared during any compliance inquiry will be protected to the fullest extent possible. You may choose to report anonymously, and all reports – whether anonymous or identified – will receive the same level of attention and protection.
Any person who reports concerns will not be subjected to retaliation or harassment in response to their report. Any individual found retaliating against someone for making a report will be referred to the Compliance Officer for appropriate action.
The Compliance Officer will seek advice and guidance from legal counsel to assist in the investigation of any reports of fraud, waste, or abuse generated from within Optimal Care.
